Dear Friends,
The start of a new year/decade/century/millennium
always brings with it all sorts of new things and changes, and January
2000 was no exception. Lots of exciting things are happening to Christiana’s
staff. Lora Tate is working full-time in Tennessee with Character First!,
Rachel Fleming is getting married in May, Anna Barry just started a new
full-time job with Charles Schwab, and I am in the middle of another semester
in college.
Unfortunately, 2000 didn’t bring any extra time
along with these exciting things. Which means the Christiana staff is swamped.
Which means we need your help if the magazine is to continue!
First, we need help with the content of the magazine.
Up until now, Christiana has kinda been our magazine. We want it to be
your magazine. We would love to feature more of your work, and start a
new “Meet the Readers” section. Send in a letter introducing yourself,
and include a picture! We’ll send you an extra copy of the magazine for
each page your contributions appear in. Here are some more ideas on how
you can contribute to the magazine:
-
Pictures for the cover
-
Stories and articles
-
Biographies of great Christians, historical figures,
martyrs, etc.
-
Hymn Histories
-
How-To articles
-
Recipes for the Super-Cook Wannabe
-
Questions for Sister2Sister
-
Suggestions, stories, and ideas about working with
kids for Little Blessings
-
Science and informational articles about creation,
etc.
-
Book and web site reviews
-
Testimonies
-
Poems and quotes for Heart Songs
Second, we need help getting subscribers.
Please tell your friends, family, and church about Christiana. Send in
their names and we’ll send them a free sample issue. We also have mini
sample issues that are a lot cheaper to make and distribute if you’d like
to give one to all the members of your church group or class at school,
or give a bunch to your favorite Christian bookstore to hand out to customers.
Just let us know how many you need and we’ll get them sent to you.
We are also considering adding some advertising
to the magazine. What things would you be interested in seeing advertisements
for? Do you have a business or something you’d like to advertise in Christiana?
Please let us know.
Now, we aren’t asking you to join the staff. We
understand how busy you are (believe me, we understand!). But if you can
just contribute one small item to Christiana, or distribute a few sample
issues, it will be greatly appreciated. E-mail me at christianamag@juno.com,
or write to me at 493 W. Desert Ave., Gilbert, AZ 85233. Let’s make
this your magazine.
In Christ,
